Our Story
Miracles In Motion Performing Arts Centre was founded in March of 2017 by Julie Moore. Julie's vision when opening this studio was to give every child a chance to take dance classes by keeping the classes free. We were able to do this for the first three years and we grew so much, we had to find a larger studio. In September 2020, we moved into a beautiful 4300 square foot building in Newport NC, with sprung dance flooring in our 1400+ square foot dance room, 30 feet high ceilings, a huge viewing area for the parents with viewing monitors, all so the parents feel like they are right in the dance room. (Check out the pictures on our gallery page to see the construction process of our new studio)
Our dance wear store is located right as you walk into the door of our new studio and is open to our dance parents as well as the public. We sell new and used dance wear and dance shoes. We carry all dance shoes (Tap, ballet, jazz, lyrical, dance tennis shoes). We also have tights, leotards, bra tops, dance shorts, and just about anything you need for dance class. If we do not have it in stock, we can order it for you as our prices are unbelievably cheaper than anywhere else.
This new location is going to open so many doors for MIMPAC and hopefully, we can add our second dance room within a short time after moving in. We keep the prices low enough for most families to pay for dance class for their children without it being a financial burden to the family, and if a family cannot pay for dance, we have a sponsorship program called "Miracle Makers". "Miracle Makers" allows for businesses and individuals to donate money to pay for whatever a student may need for dance, including all the students classes and fees (such as registration fees and recital fees). You can read more about our sponsorship program on our sponsor page. Our recital fees, where we include the rental of costumes in the fee, is kept at a minimum. Our costumes do not always match within a class, but, we color-coordinate them, which truly makes it special for each child. The costumes are donated to us by other non-profit organizations, other dance studios within our community, and from around the country. Ms. Julie will always choose the perfect costume for each child and parents can easily pick their child out on stage because of the costumes they are wearing.
We also have a competition team and you can read more about that on our competition page! Miracles in Motion has truly become a MIRACLE IN MOTION!!!

Ms. Julie has over twenty-five years of teaching experience. Ms. Julie has been dancing since the early age of three years old. She teaches tap, ballet (Cecchetti Method), jazz, lyrical, contemporary and pointe. She grew up taking dance from Linda Huffman Kalnen and Melanie Galizia Marcotte. Ms. Julie loves teaching, choreographing and everything else about the world of dance. She has attended classes with Joffrey Ballet, Joe Tremaine, Luigi, Angela and Steve Sirico, Tony Coppola, Dolly Kelepecz, Simone DePaolo, Julie Kay Stallcup, Erin Burd and many more famous and well-known choreographers and dance instructors. She has choreographed many productions such as Oklahoma, Carousel, Annie, and Little Shop of Horrors, just to name a few. She was Miss Carteret County in 1985 and represented Carteret County in the Miss North Carolina Pageant in 1986. Ms. Julie is constantly attending online seminars and classes to keep her teaching skills up to date. She also attends the Dance Teacher Web Expo in Las Vegas as often as she can, and she is a member of National Dance Education Organization (NDEO). Ms. Julie wants every child to love dance as much as she does, and she always puts her personal touch into each class to make the classes interesting and fun for every student. She teaches children that if they work hard, dedicate themselves and follow through with everything they do and say that it will always benefit them in dance class and for the rest of their life. She really gets to know each student and helps each student to find and love their best self. She has a BA in Organizational Management with a Minor in Psychology and is hoping to complete her master’s degree in Dance Education in the near future.
